Emergency First Aid at Work 1 Day Course

Service Description

This course is suitable for both those who require first aid training for the workplace and also those who require basic first aid skills out with the workplace. You don’t need to work for a company to undertake this course. Our Emergency First Aid at Work Course (EFAW) runs from 9:00 – 17:00. The EFAW training syllabus covers some important general first aid topics, including: WHAT ARE THE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FIRST AIDER? HOW SHOULD INCIDENTS BE RECORDED AND REPORTED USING A REPORTING OF INJURIES, DISEASES AND DANGEROUS OCCURRENCES REGULATIONS (RIDDOR) FORM? WHAT SHOULD A FIRST AID KIT CONTAIN? IN A FIRST AID EMERGENCY, HOW SHOULD YOU ASSESS THE SITUATION AND RESPOND. The course will also educate employees on how to handle a wide range of specific work-related situations, as well as teaching them cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Over the course of the emergency first aid training day, they will be taught how to deal with: MINOR CUTS, GRAZES, SPLINTERS, AND BURNS CHOKING SHOCK WOUNDS AND BLEEDING DIABETES ASTHMA FRACTURES STROKES ANAPHYLACTIC SHOCK HEART ATTACKS AND ANGINA UNCONSCIOUS COLLEAGUES AED (EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR) ILLNESSES BRUISES, SPRAINS, STRAINS SCALDS Entry Requirements - Learners should be physically fit as the course has physically demanding aspects. The course will have a mixture of theory discussions and role play scenarios with both written and physical assessments to complete for successful passing of the course.

Please be aware that no refunds are given. If you cannot make your course date we can discuss a reschedule if you get in touch no later than 24 hours before the start date. Any cancellations/no shows after this time frame, it will be at the discretion of the centre if a reschedule can be offered.
