General Risk Assessment

The Health and Safety at Work Act states that all occupations and work activities must be Risk Assessed regularly.

The risks in any occupation must, by HSE regulation, be assessed.  This assessment must be conducted by an individual who can be deemed competent to do so.

This course, of one days duration, with an option to extend into a second day, provides employees with the requisite information, skills and practice to complete formal risk assessments in the workplace.

Competence is inferred from successful completion of a multiple-choice question paper.

Where employers feel that these employees will be employed in the role of risk assessors, the CIEH recommends that the training is extended into a second day to include practical application of the course work within the workplace.  Candidates conduct an actual risk assessment in their own workplace under the supervision and guidance of the Tutor.
